Dry Time

It took nearly a year, but our clothes line is finally up!

Jordan fashioned this very smart “sleeve” so we can bring the line back in the house when we’re done for the day.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues

More filming news from Atlanta!  Today they’re filming “Anchorman 2″ in the park across the street from my office building.  From our 17th floor conference room we were able to pick out Will Ferrell in his burgundy suit and, down on the street, 70′s-era taxi cabs, cars and delivery trucks are continually circling the park.  They painted over the windows of a Moe’s Burrito Shop to look like an Italian pizzeria and all the bus stops and newsstands are dressed in old advertisements.  Construction cones placed around the perimeter of the park read: “Filming in progress / Simulated gunfire”.  We can see people practicing stunts and swinging baseball bats.  Looks like there will be another fight among the news teams!

And this time — pictures!  Thanks to my co-worker Katy for sharing!

A bit silly — but I had to share!

Tough Decisions

My dad’s coming to town this weekend.  We bought three tickets to this game.

Who should we root for?

Can you believe …

… that the “Plant Shelf” post was the 70th post on this blog?!

Thanks, everyone, for making this a good place.  We are happy to be connected to all of you!

Plant Shelf

Our church is moving into a new space, and we helped out on demolition day.  We took some dumpster-bound wood home with us and Jordan gave it new life in the form of a plant shelf.

Someday I’ll sand and paint it — but for now, we love it!

Confederate Memorial Day

Hi all,

Today is Confederate Memorial Day, a state holiday, in Georgia.  State offices are closed for this observance day that dates back to before 1874.  According to Wikipedia, nine Southern states officially observe Confederate Memorial Day, which was first proposed by a group of women in Columbus, Georgia.

To learn more, listen to this short radio interview with the assistant director of Kennesaw State University’s Civil War Center.  I recommend it!

I’m headed back to the DC area later this afternoon for another conference.  Hope everyone has a great week!

Uh oh

The Braves are currently the most winningest team in baseball!  You can thank Cliff Lee for one loss and the Kansas City Royals for the other (just today).
